A client brought Hawkins 2 cherished but very badly damaged, faded, cracked, and torn photos, both in numerous pieces.  The photos had been found in a World War I steamer trunk handed down from a cherished great uncle who had, sadly, died in the war.

Salvation attempts had been previously made including the hand stitching seen in the upper left portion of the image. Major portions of each photo were missing and extensive work was required to piece the photos together.  The resulting joints then needed extensive repairs. Some joints are still visible but fixing those would necessitated even more work.  Carol filled in missing pieces by repainting areas, as time and budget would allow.

The finished photo could still be improved a lot but the client was thrilled with the much-improved print. Carol and the client decided to leave the stitched photo repair in place because of its historical signifigance to the family.
